SOFT DELIGHT

Pride is cancer of the soul
For which we have no cure
Except in pure humility
That educates for sure

We’re all beathing enterprises
Concealed in veil of flesh
We consume just what’s fresh and sweet
To save this fickle mesh

The human heart though wrought in flesh
Throbs with its blissful ease
It has no bloody thought to sell
Or will that’ll rob its peace

Like the strange signs of zodiac
That’re bound to live in time
Heart’s the voice of eternity
That makes it more sublime

Life’s a charming story that tells
What good and bad both hold
We live without knowing what they’re
As do what we’re told

True emotion that lives unseen
Makes earth love the smiles
That help soften rigidity
And weariness of miles

And the stilling hand of nature
That calmly hides and halts
Transforms all wild commotion
To give us sweets and salts

At night when slumber seals our eyes
We breathe entranced in peace
Why day makes mortals shirk from light
And makes them beg on knees!

The heartless tricks of solemn mind
Are whirlwinds of history
That mock us with cold facts of life
To steal our dignity

But faith sprouts forth from kinky roots
That lounge in flesh and soil
Or that coiled serpent in the head
That rules but does not toil

But faith is but a fragile dream
Though neat in form and art
But flesh can save with feelings
TThat live within the heart

The soft-hued rose that sports its charms
Just whimpers as it fades
Says wisdom lives in thorny ferns
And not in masqurades

The light that races on with speed
Comes from a fixed source
Time may deny moment its bliss
But true heart’ll stay its course

The head and heart the flesh and bones
mix shades of gray and white
To feed the flame of mysteries
That burns with soft delight.
